Karen Casey’s art goes beyond physical boundaries to traverse the inner landscapes of the body and mind. Through image, performance and immersive installation, she challenges her audience to go beyond what is comfortable and familiar, sometimes by seeking to alter their states of mind or by engaging in creative social interaction.
Karen’s current project explores the human body. Exposed and transformed through a unique use of medical imaging software. She converts CT and MRI scans into confronting yet strangely beautiful imagery, revealing the innermost parts of the body in an intimate, visceral journey.
